Taxes play an important role in raising funds for several government expenditures. In addition, It also helps the government to do public services and maintain its function of the government. In Nepal, In the fiscal year, 2078/79 most of the private and public companies paid the highest amount of taxes. From all of them today we will take the top10 highest tax-paying companies.
Surya Nepal the largest private sector enterprise and manufacturing company paid the highest amount of taxes in this fiscal year. Surya Nepal paid 10.72 Billion NPR as a tax. Surya Nepal currently operates its business in the sector of Cigarettes, Safety matches, and readymade garments in Nepal. The company is recognized as the best private sector venture frequently and also got FNCCI national excellence award for being the best managed best-managed corporation in Nepal.
Similarly, Nepal Telecom (NTC) is in the second position. The state-owned telecommunication company is performing a smooth operation in Nepal in the sector of telecommunication.NTC paid ta total of 9.82 billion NPR as taxes and is the second highest tax-paying company in Nepal. Similarly, by pursuing NTC, NCELL, previously the private sector telecommunication company is in the third position. Ncell is the first mobile service operating company in Nepal. On 3 August 2020 Ncell converted into a public limited company and changed its name to Ncell Axiata Limited. It paid a total 7.79Billion NPR as taxes.
Likewise, Gorkha Brewery is in the fourth position on the list. The private sector company mostly manufactures the liquors and is owned by Khetan Groups. It paid 5.69 Billion NPR as tax. Including Nepal electricity authority the public sector company is in the fifth position on the list by paying 3.95 billion NPR as taxes.

After all, five commercial banks of Nepal are in the 6th, 7th, 8th 9th, and 10th positions on the list. NIC Asia bank is in the 6th position by paying 3.41 billion taxes in the fiscal year 2078/79. In Parallel, Nabil bank and Global IME bank two giant commercial banks as per the asset are in the 7th and 8th position in the list by paying 3.41billion NPR and 3.32 billion NPR.
Comparably, by paying a 2.77billion NPR Siddhartha bank is at the 9th position and Rashtriya Banijya Bank is at the 10th position on the list paying 2.65Billion NPR.
